[Tutorial] Install and Setup Flatpak

Flatpak is a utility for software deployment and package management for Linux. It is advertised as offering a sandbox environment in which users can run application software in isolation from the rest of the system

Update System: Run the command with superuser permission. sys-app update

Install Flatpak: Install flatpak either from Bazaar or sys-app. For bazaar, Simply search flatpak and click on install, for sys-app, execute this command sys-app install flatpak

Post Fixes: You need to fix the some issues which the developer missed. Execute the following commands to fix them.

sudo rmdir /var/tmp
sudo ln -srv /tmp /var/
echo "pathappend $HOME/.local/share/flatpak/exports/share XDG_DATA_DIRS" >> $HOME/.profile
sudo sh -c "echo pathappend /var/lib/flatpak/exports/share XDG_DATA_DIRS > /etc/profile.d/z_flatpakpathfix.sh"
flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo

And a logout will fix everything.

Install apps from flatpak

You can checkout your favorite apps from https://flathub.org, Search the app you want to install, and scroll down and copy the installation command -> paste the commands in terminal.
